Teresa Dolkas McClintock  Co-Writer/Director

Teresa has a full background in musical theater including acting, script and song writing, producing, and directing, as well as performing as one-third of Just Like T.H.A.T.! vocal trio (formerly, The Swing Sisters) for most of her adult life. Since she was first captivated by a high school production of The Music Man at 10 years old, performing arts has been her passion and a huge part of Teresa’s family life, her life’s work, and her calling. When her daughter, Christina, was a teen, they started writing and producing musicals together for use with students in their local school district and community theater, giving hundreds of them a chance to discover the “theater kid within.” More recently, they had several children’s skits published in national magazines winning a national award for humor from the Evangelical Press Association. As proprietors of Plays in Days (www.playsindays.com), a website designed to provide directors – especially rookies - with plays, production bundles, and tools to streamline the production process, the mother-daughter duo continue to add to their repertoire of plays, skits, and musicals with positive messages, the latest of which is Not For Sale – a musical. Their most ambitious and powerful musical yet, this collaborative effort between Christina (daughter), son (Dominic) and mother (Teresa), has been a cherished experienced.

Christina Balli Haemmerle  Co-Writer/Director

Christina has been passionate about musical theater ever since her role as The Littlest Christmas Tree at the ripe age of 6 years old. She went on to follow that passion throughout childhood and her teenage years, playing multiple lead roles as well as dozens of ensemble parts in school, community theater, and independent film productions. She began writing and telling stories at a very young age, which combined with her love of acting when she assisted her mother, Teresa, in creating McClintock’s Children’s Theater when she was in high school. Christina loved the interwoven aspect of writing, performing and directing. For the last twenty plus years, she has performed in the band, Starcrossed, with her talented husband Mark Haemmerle, curating and producing many multi-media events and shows. Christina is also a graphic designer and visual artist, and has immensely enjoyed using all of those talents in the collaborative creation of Not For Sale – a musical.

Personal Notes

Teresa McClintock, Co-Writer

Really, I’m just a mom with children who inspire me to stretch. When my daughter, Christina, came to me in 2015, with her vision to write a stage musical inspired by the songs on Dominic’s (her brother’s, my son’s) album, Not For Sale, I jumped right in. Since her childhood, we have had a blast doing theater together, writing, performing, and producing, but this would be our most ambitious and risky project to date! For the story on how and why we ended up here a full ten years later, we invite you to check out our Not For Sale – a musical, Behind the Scenes video series (pink button link above). It was an honor to bring this long contemplated story to life on stage for the first time with the wonderful team of actors, producers, artists, stage crew, builders, and technicians at Community Players Theatre in Escondido. My personal hope is that
Christina’s characters and story - imagined yet plausible – will entertain, inform, and inspire everyone who produces or sees the musical to celebrate the profound dignity and worth God has placed on every human in his creation. I also hope that people will be inspired to help however they feel led to when our dignity and worth are threatened. We hope this is only the beginning for Not For Sale – a musical and that it will be performed Anywhere and Everywhere its message can be a part of the solution. I am so privileged to help open a new avenue for my son Dominic’s music and my daughter Christina’s creativity. Of course, none of my theater endeavors happen without the constant support of my wonderful husband. Thank you, Coach. I love you.

Christina Balli Haemmerle, Co-Writer

In the midst of a recent light-hearted conversation, someone asked me: “What inspires you to create?” Cheekily, I replied, “The voices in my head, yelling at me to tell their stories!” Everyone laughed, assuming I was joking. But it’s a larger truth than you might think. When I first listened to my brother’s album, Not For Sale, I heard “Dreamers” and thought it would make an amazing finale song for a musical. I could see the kids dancing and celebrating across the stage. “Fly”
immediately had me picturing a young man and woman singing to each other across opposite sides of the proverbial tracks. “Heartbeat” was the bittersweet soul of their love story. “What We Found in the Dark” their much needed redemption moment after too much trauma and heartbreak. The characters were calling to me in every note and every line, begging me to share
them with the world. And the song “Not For Sale” was the underlying message that they desperately needed everyone to hear. I will always be grateful to my mother, Teresa, for hearing my crazy story and knowing beyond a doubt that we could tell it. She did the bulk of the heavy lifting, seeing my vision and bringing it into reality, while my husband and daughter (Mark and Sky, I love you!) demonstrated incredible patience and support over the two plus years we’ve been working on this. The hard work and late nights will be worth it if all of you who produce or see this show in the future find yourselves laughing and crying and celebrating the dignity of every human with us and our characters, now having been brought to life for the first time on stage.
